Plan your family beach portrait!
It's still pretty chilly in Connecticut. But it's not to early to start thinking about the beach portrait sessions that are so very, very popular! Especially because photographers typically book up during the summer. I love shooting on the beach, it's probably my favorite sessions (minus the whole SAND thing). They just always turn out so lovely! If you have an extended family vacation planned in 2022, I have a special package for those families and you can find that info on my next blog.

Now that we have a vision, let me walk you through what a beach or park session with me would look like:
First, we'll pick a date and time. The best time of day is about an hour before sunset, so in the summer months that may mean the kiddos need/get to stay up a little later then usual. If it's a cloudy day we can meet earlier. I reserve not only the date we choose, but a rain fay as well to make sure we get the perfect session weather.
Then I'll help you select wardrobe for your whole family. I make it so easy and we'll pick outfits from your closet or pick some lovely new pieces that you and your children will wear again and again. I also have a studio wardrobe for mom if you would like to borrow something. Borrowing from the studio wardrobe would require an in-person styling appointment, but this is complementary.
Then if you like, I will book a hair and makeup artist to come to your home and get you ready for the camera. This is an option many mommas choose to add on to their session.
Finally we meet for your session, and it will be FUN! Dad will be happy that I happen to be the fasted photographer in Connecticut. The kids will be happy that I love to play, and let them play. It makes for the best candid images!
When the session is over your images will be ready to proof within 2 weeks. At this time you will choose how you want to display them, with portraits on the wall or an heirloom album.
My family portrait process is FULL-SERVICE and it is 100% worth it to me and my clients. It allows for a seamless, stress-free experience. Opting for a full service photography experience will avoid: outfits that don't photograph well, hair and makeup that doesn't work for the camera, images that stay on a hard drive and never get displayed, a cranky husband and kiddos, moms purchasing 10 dresses online, only to to choose one that she "kinda" liked.
My job isn't just to take the photograph. It is to conceptualize the entire session while envisioning the portraits on your walls, then help you design your space and hang your custom artwork.
