My favorite dresses for maternity sessions in 2023
It's currently August 15, 2023, and it is the best month to shop for your maternity session! In fact, I have just purchased over 20 dresses to add to my studio boutique because the sales are so good right now!
After hours and hours of searching (and lots of money spent for my clients), I have found some of the most amazing dresses and ideas to share with you.
First of all, we're coming into the fall season and I just want to throw this out there: you do not need to wear typical fall colors for your maternity session just because it's a fall month. You can still wear light and airy colors, in fact, I quite like them from behind the lens.
Second, I am really loving the dresses that are not actually maternity dresses but are fitting bumps. So many online stores and boutiques are offering flowy dresses that will fit you now, after baby, and a year from now.
And lastly, my favorite find so far has been from DOEN. I will list a few of my favorite purchases specifically, but I am finding the Doen dresses (although a splurge) have been my absolute favorite so far. They are versatile in terms of sizing (you can go wrong, I can wear a small thru XL), and they are well-made, beautiful and light, and comfortable. You can also find some great Doen dresses on Poshmark or Mercari.
